Polysmiths
Polysmiths is a London-based architecture and interior design practice founded in 2019 by Charles Wu ARB. With a mission to build a sense of belonging, the studio creates spaces where people feel genuinely at home, in private houses and public life alike. The practice works across residential, hospitality, cultural, and public realm architecture. What unifies every project is a commitment to deep listening, timeless material quality, and the creation of value that endures.
Founder & Principal Architect
Charles Wu grew up between Hong Kong, Sydney, and London, a peripatetic childhood that became the personal foundation for Polysmiths’ philosophy. The experience of constant movement, and the eventual discovery of places that felt like home, shaped his conviction that good architecture exists first to create belonging.
Before founding Polysmiths, Charles spent fifteen years in leading architectural practices: Heatherwick Studio, David Chipperfield Architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Studio Egret West, and Edge Design Institute in Hong Kong. He is an IDEO alumnus, with certified experience in change management and innovation leadership. Charles holds ARB registration, and is educated at the University of Westminster.
